Turkish troops cross into Kurdistan 

The war between Turkey and its Kurdish population in the southeast is spilling over into Kurdistan. Turkish troops have crossed the border into Kurdistan in pursuit of PKK fighters. Kurdistan cannot be pleased by this, but it is utterly dependent on Turkey for exporting its oil.

Iranian troops clash with Kurds

The Kurdish insurgency in northwestern is also heating up. The Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK) is likely supported by Israel and the increase in fighting may be based on Israel’s desire to worsen relations between Iran and the rest of the world, much of which is sympathetic to the Kurds as they are the most reliable enemies of ISIL.

Professor asserts that critics of the war on terrorism are traitors 

In a law journal, a West Point professor argues that criticism of the US war against al Qaeda, ISIL, et al is treasonous and that retaliation against such critics is justifiable. The journal has since repudiated the article.
