ISIL claims to kill four Egyptian policemen

ISIL continues to establish itself in Egypt. It has already ensconced itself with restive tribes in Sinai. However, it is also striking in and near major cities as well. This is in large part owing to the military coup that ousted the Muslim Brotherhood and the subsequent outlawing of the movement. That follow was enthusiastically supported by Saudi Arabia. Egypt is losing its east, west, and possibly parts of Cairo.

ISIL consolidates along Libyan coast

In the chaotic aftermath of Qaddafi’s fall, Libya has broken into three regions. However, there are also regions under ISIL control.  Libyan militias have thus far been unable to oust them. From these coastal areas, ISIL is organizing tribes in western Egypt.

Russian airstrikes kills civilians in Idlib province

Dozens of civilians were killed when a Russian airstrike hit a crowded marketplace. Russian ground intelligence is likely far less accurate than its American counterpart.  We shall see how much outrage this airstrike leads to as compared to when the US makes a similar error.
